Dr Chris Lekich is the medical director of Metrocentre and performs more vasectomies and microsurgical vasectomy reversals combined than any other practitioner in Australia. Click here for more information on Dr Chris Lekich.
Metrocentre is one of the very few clinics offering the Open-Ended Vasectomy along with a microsurgery-inspired technique; and The Owen 3 Layer Micro-Surgical Vasectomy Reversal.
Dr Lekich trained with one of the most prominent micro-surgeons in the world, Professor Earl Owen, and has since become his successor.
Metrocentre is well known across Australia for their use of diagnostic ultrasound imaging, enabling them to achieve successful results for difficult cases, where others have failed. Click here for more information on the success rate of the Owen Three-Layer closure technique.
An Open-Ended Vasectomy done the Metrocentre way takes longer to perform, compared to a quick snip vasectomy and a typical Owen 3 Layer Micro-Surgical Vasectomy Reversal procedure performed by Dr Lekich takes around 2-3 hours.
Compared with other permanent sterilisation procedures, such as tubal litigation, vasectomy procedures are affordable and much less invasive. A vasectomy is partly covered by Medicare and the Medicare safety net may reimburse up to 85% of the procedure cost. Metrocentre have a dedicated theatre where the vasectomies are performed rather than in a consultation room, so no additional inpatient fees are charged. It is important to note that Metrocentre is not a budget cut-price vasectomy service and we do not offer a ‘quick snip’ type service.
Dr Chris Lekich practices at his dedicated facility in Brisbane on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The facility is located on Ipswich Road at Buranda in South Brisbane.
